Panda Pals 1000
The Panda Pals initiative which was discussed earlier has now finally got up and running and I personally think this is a great incentive for the fans to show support to help raise funds for the team and also encourage the youth of Ayrshire to support the number one team in Ayrshire.

Fans to give Ayr United a double boost
A group of Ayr United fans has launched a campaign that will provide a large number of free season tickets for children under 12 years of age. At the same time, club chairman Lachlan Cameron has agreed that the proceeds from the Panda Pals season tickets bought by the campaign will be ring fenced to boost the playing budget for boss Brian Reid.
The four supporters, Mark Pettigrew, Iain Robb, Richard MacDonald and Calum Campbell have devised the scheme called “Panda Pals 1000”, which will ask individuals and organizations to donate money to purchase Panda Pals season tickets for Somerset Park.
Outlining how Panda Pals 1000 will work, Mark Pettigrew explained. “The idea of Panda Pals 1000 was discussed by a few of us last season and over the past couple of months we started to investigate how we could make it happen. We want to raise enough money from supporters, businesses and other organizations to see Ayr United sell more than 1000 Panda Pals season tickets for the coming season. We hope this approach will see youngsters who otherwise wouldn’t have a Panda Pals season ticket, able to attend Somerset Park and boost the numbers of Panda Pals. As well as this, we’ll be helping Brian Reid to strengthen his playing squad”
“To make a scheme like this work well, we wanted to make the whole thing as simple as possible. We’ve been given assistance from the Ayr United Development Society, The Ayr United Football Academy and will have support from the official club website, all of which we’re really grateful for.”
“A bank account has been opened for us by the Development Society and the season tickets will be distributed by the Ayr United Football Academy through their links with the community. We will have regular updates on how we’re doing against our target on the official club website.”
If you want to help the campaign, there are four ways to make a donation. Cheques made out to “Ayr United Development Society Panda Pals 1000” can be posted to Panda Pals 1000 c/o Ayr United Development Society, Somerset Park, Tryfield Place, Ayr KA8 9NB. Cash or cheque payments can be made in person at the Ayr United Development Society Office at Tryfield Place Mon- Friday and on Saturdays on match days.
You can also make payment securely online via Bacs transfer or pay in at any branch of any bank Sort code: 83-15-26 Account No: 10098166 Ayr United Development Society.
ENDS.
